Dr. Sue Davis has 45 years in healthcare, science, and education.  She has had a women's natural healthcare practice in Arizona for 33 years - The Lotus Center for Healing.  A writer and researcher, she decided to also devote her skills to working with dogs in 2006, and Rub-Down Dog Canine Massage was born.

"Rub-Down Dog Canine Massage evolved from a deep desire I had to work with dogs.  Tellington Touch has been a mainstay for my dog clients, along with Craniosacral therapy, a combination of sports massage and Tui Na Chinese massage.  Reiki just goes along with every session with every dog.  We can't touch in a healing way without connecting.  Always gentle, always gentle.  Read the dog. Listen to the animal."

Dr. Sue practices acupuncture, Chinese medicine, Craniosacral therapy, and gentle chiropractic - among other skills - in her people practice.  She was a nationally certified paramedic for ten years, worked in biophysics research at the University of Pennsylvania, and served as Academic Dean of Acupuncture and Oriental Medicine at RainStar University in Scottsdale. What other dog parents are saying about Dr. Sue

My older chow lab' mix had severe hip dysplasia and arthritis. He was hurting badly for 4 to 5 years and getting worse. He had been on medication and I wanted alternative to so many drugs. My veterinarian suggested I call Dr. Sue and  I'm glad I did. My dog had noticable pain relief and better mobility for quite some time.  Her work was therapeutic, very relaxing and calming for my dog.  Her presence was calming for my other dogs and our family too.  I recommend her gentle work.

Dr. Davis worked with my two agility dogs I almost pulled from competition. Molly was running slow and losing interest; Hope’s performance had decreased and she was knocking bars, both problems caused by joint and mobility issues. Molly improved almost immediately, giving her qualifying runs.  She  ‘retired’ with many ribbons. Hope’s show performance had just begun to peak!  She had renewed enthusiasm and completed several titles and lots of ribbons!

Dr. Davis has also worked with my foster rescue Aussie, Nike, who is both blind, deaf and suffers from obsessive compulsive disorder and hyperactivity.  She also had a condition of the eyes called ‘nystagmus.’  My veterinarian referred Dr. Davis’ CranioSacral Therapy and massage.

Nike’s nystagmus was completely gone in several treatments.  Her hyperactivity  also slowed and she was able to enjoy extended periods of relaxation.

I would definitely recommend Dr. Davis because she helped my dogs to relax, improved mobility, and improved their show performance.  We were extremely pleased with the results.

Dr. Sue helped relieve pain due to a pinched nerve in my dog Bear's back. The pain made it difficult for him to walk but after a few sessions with Dr. Sue, he improved greatly and was the happy dog again
